USCIS Launches Chinese-Language Engagement SeriesInaugural dialogue takes place Feb. 16 Topic: Becoming a U.S. citizen
PHOENIX, Arizona -U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) will conduct its first national Chinese-language public engagement on Thursday, February 16, broadcast from its San Francisco office. The USCIS Office in Phoenix is inviting stakeholders to view and participate in the national engagement at the local Phoenix office from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. MST. The topic will be ‘The Naturalization Process: Becoming a United States Citizen.’ This free session will feature a presentation in Chinese and a question and answer period.
This will be the first in a series of engagements called ‘ jiao liu’ meaning engagement in Chinese. At these sessions, USCIS officials will provide agency updates, help customers understand how best to navigate through the immigration experience, and host a question-and-answer forum. Individuals are invited to participate in person in San Francisco, via live Web stream in Phoenix, or via live Web stream or teleconference elsewhere.
This initiative underscores USCIS’s commitment to effectively engage with the diverse communities which it serves and to provide timely information about USCIS immigration benefits and services. For more information, please visit www.uscis.gov/jiaoliu.
