In Congressman Salmon’s speech, he stated that there is a fine line we walk in being partners and competitors. ”It is a top priority for me to improve our relationship with China and push for the trade policies that will grow our economy and increase jobs, while also encouraging China to make improvements within their system of law to protect the rights of intellectual property owners.” ” In walking this line,”he continued, ”We must strike a balance by coupling those petitions for change with an open door policy for Chinese participation in the U.S. economy. Only then will we truly unshackle the free market and the many opportunities we have both in Arizona and around the country that will help us grow our economy and create jobs not only today but into the future.”Though Congressman Salmon was unable to attend the forum to deliver his speech in person, his intentions came across and was well received by the audience.
