The 2024 Chinese New Year Show (Spring Festival Gala) was held at the Chandler Center for the Arts on February 3, 2024. Organized by The Crane Foundation, Arizona Art Academy, the City of Chandler, and UCA AZ, the event was a resounding success. This annual gala has been a staple in Arizona’s Chinese community for over a decade, earning recognition as a prominent cultural event in mainstream media. With 2024 being the Year of the Dragon, the organizers embraced the theme, kicking off the evening with a grand dance titled “Dragon Soars, Lion Dances.” The program was also invited to perform as the opening act for the Diamondback Asian Heritage Month competition. Thanks to years of dedicated effort, the Arizona Spring Festival Gala has become not only a cultural feast for overseas Chinese during the Lunar New Year but also a window for the general public to experience Asian heritage. Public schools such as Coronado Elementary School, Tarwater Elementary School, and Hamilton High School joined the lineup, adding to the diversity of performances. As the oldest Chinese dance school in the local area, the Arizona Art Academy impressed both the Chandler City Government and the general audience with the quality of their performances. As a charitable event, 250 complimentary tickets were distributed to Chandler City Government, police, firefighters, and educators in appreciation of their outstanding service to the community. Recognized as a cultural brand in Arizona, the Arizona Spring Festival Gala received generous sponsorship from the city of Chandler, Arizona’s Vision, and UCACF.
