(Phoenix) Arizona Governor Doug Ducey hosted a special send-off for Jay Shi, Olympic shooter representing the United States in Rio, on July 26, 2016 at the Governor’s Office. Governor Ducey extended well wishes to Jay and presented him with an Arizona flag and pins as he departs to Rio to compete in the Summer Olympics. Jay will be competing in the 10 meter air pistol (August 6) and 50 meter free pistol (August 10) events. He has been shooting for the past 10 years and spent the last two years qualifying. Jay and his family (wife, Yuanyuan Wang; father, Yu Min Shi; mother, Ping Yang) immigrated from China and Arizona is their home. His employer, the state of Arizona -Corporation Commission and, prior, Department of Public Safety -have been supportive of Jay in his quest for the Olympics.
