(Chandler, AZ) Celebrate Chinese Mid-Autumn Festival locally?Embrace 2014 Mid-autumn Festival with incredible Chinese dance performance and complimentary Chinese cultural activities at the Chandler Center for the Arts (CCA), Sunday, September 14, 2014.
The first session of the Festival, Chinese Art & Crafts, is FREE to pubic, starting at 1:30 at CCA lobby. You are invited to experience various cultural activities, Chinese Calligraphy mini-workshop, music instrument demonstration, China photo exhibition, and more.
It’s followed by Chinese Dance Celebration alive on CCA’s Main Stage at 4:00pm. Classic, ethnic, folk, the lively performance takes you on a spectacular journey of Chinese performing arts, history, life and passion. Chinese Dance Celebration is a great outing for entire family with price tag of $15 per ticket. Tickets are available at Chandler Center for the Arts box office. 480.782.2680
Mid-autumn Moon Festival: Mid-autumn Moon Festival, a centuries-old harvest festival, is one of the most important ancient festival in China and many Asian countries. Like American Thanksgiving in certain way, Mid-autumn Festival is deeply rooted in celebration of harvest time and spending quality time with family and friends. It is also uniquely associated with customs like appreciation of the full moon, enjoying moon cakes and watching themed performances. ”May we live long and share the beauty of the moon together, even if we are hundreds of miles apart,”says the romantic Chinese poem thousand years ago. 2014 Mid-Autumn Chinese Dance and Art Festival brings the opportunity of celebrating a ancient world festival l in Chandler, Arizona with a lots of fun.

Eastern Art Academy is a Chandler art organization that has pride to serve its community and beyond. It provides focused, high-standard Chinese arts and cultural training programs for youth and adults including Chinese Dance Series, Fine Arts, Martial arts, Tai Chi, Traditional Chinese Painting, Bilingual Language Program, and more.
ASU Confucius Institute: The Confucius Institute at Arizona State University aims in promoting Chinese language and culture studies in schools as well as throughout the Arizona’s general public. Through collaboration with campus, community, K-12 schools and China-based educational partners, the ASU Confucius Institute develops programs that provide opportunity for the study of Chinese language and culture in Arizona and China.
