Chinese United Association of Greater Phoenix (CUAGP) welcomes our community to the 2014 4th of July celebration. This year, the festivities will be held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints located at 3920 N. 44th Place in Phoenix (just east of 44th Street, on Indianola Street, south of Indian School Road).
The admission is FREE with a FREE ticket that you can obtain at Super L Ranch Market, Great Wall Restaurant, The Eastern Art Academy, or at the church on the day of the 4th.
The celebration will begin a 11:00 am when the American Legion Thomas Tang Post 50 will post our nation’s colors that will start the day’s activities. The traditional lion dance will be performed bringing everyone good luck and good fortune to everyone attending.
A buffet lunch will be served from 12:00 noon until 2:00 pm. The traditional American hot dog and hamburger will be served with a buffet lunch of BBQ chicken, pulled pork and watermelon. Also, Chinese fried rice and stir-fried noodles will be on the menu.
At 2:00pm a talent and fashion show for the whole family will be presented on stage with singing, dancing, and colorful Chinese costumes on display.
There will be games for all ages that will be set up during the day’s activities. You will see a children art exhibit, Mahjong and chess open, ping-pong, and kid’s water volleyball. Participation is encouraged for these exciting events.
Make sure you purchase raffle tickets and win big prizes. For only one dollar you can win something the whole family can enjoy.
It’s the 4th of July and it’s FREE. Come on out and enjoy the fun on our nation’s birthday.
