Chinese Week 2014 celebrated its Chinese New Year of the Horse to thousands of spectators at its three day event at Margaret Hance Park. The Chinese festival opened with the traditional lion dance taking away any evil spirits from the festival and promoting good luck and fortune to the event.
The festival featured live entertainment for the whole family to enjoy and many other sights to visit. The Children’s Pavilion provided hands on experience for our younger kids, a Chinese cultural booth, photo and art contest exhibit, and most of all a chance to taste a bit of Chinese cuisine for all to enjoy.
Chinese Week also included a Koi Festival by the Valley of the Sun Koi Club of Phoenix with a special koi fish competition. Koi were also offered for sale to all fish lovers who wanted to take one home.
