首届亚利桑那大学孔子学院中国文化节

  为向当地美国民众介绍中国文化,促进汉语教学, 和提高亚大孔院的知名度, 亚利桑那大学孔子学院(亚大孔院)正在同大学和社区一起积极筹备图桑首届中国文化节。这次文化节的活动内容丰富,形式多样,力求满足美国民众 对多方位了解中国文化的需要。首届亚大孔院中国文化节将在九月二十二日以在图桑市公园的中华健康日隆重拉开帷幕。接下一周活动包括系列中国文化讲座,涉及中国少林功夫和太极,孔府祭乐和民乐,中国电影和导演,及中国考古。我们还将举办中国诗歌讲座和中秋 诗歌 音乐会及汉语日全市大,中,小学生汉语大赛。九月三十日中秋之 夜,亚大孔院将同美国当地的音乐家和学生们一起献上一场 浓郁中国风情的仲秋晚会来为这次文化节 画上一个圆满的句号。
  此次中国文化节得到了各界广泛的支持和校方的极其重视。直接 协助亚大孔院 举办文化节的亚利桑那大学的学院和系就有人文学院, 东亚系,诗词中心,音乐学院, 公共卫生学院, 疾病预防和健康保健中心,社会和行为科学院,及人类学系等单位。图桑中国文化中心,图桑 华声合唱团, 图桑华人舞蹈队,图桑华人太极队,图桑华人武术队,和中医和针灸学校等十几个社会团体也纷纷加盟和参与文化节的准备活动;市政 有关管理部门专门为我们中国文化节 的开幕式开放公园 场地并提供减价动物园门票以吸引 家庭和各年龄组的市民大众参加。当地参演的专业和业余演员们正在积极紧张地排练。各个学区和学校正在踊跃报名参加汉语日的竞赛活动。
  中国领馆将派人从洛杉矶前来参加文化节。图桑市市长和亚利桑那大学的校领导将出席中华健康日(9 月22 日)并在当日中国文化节开幕式上做讲演。 社会各界将出席一周多的文化节的活动。文化节期间亚大孔院还将邀请大学和图桑市领导及 社会名流参观亚大孔院和探讨孔院近期和长期的发展计划。当地电台和报纸就首届中国文化节采访了 孔院院长和孔院学生并将陆续向 市民报道。汉办北京总部的网络孔子学院 已和亚大孔院协商,计划通过首届中国文化节宣传网络孔子学院和鼓励学生注册网络孔子学院。网络孔子学院还将开设专栏介绍和报道亚大孔院 组织的首届图桑中国文化节。
      
  预计直接参加这次中国文化节的人数将达到四千。通过报纸,电视和多媒体了解图桑中国文化节的美国大众将不计其数。亚大孔院期待在中国文化节之际同更多的大学院系,政府机构,和社会团体建立共识和合作,为当地中国语言和文化教学工作的进一步发展创下良好的群众基础和社会环境。

Chinese Health Day
Saturday, September 22 | 8 a.m. -12 p.m.
Explore Chinese Martial Arts and Tai Chi with Masters Junmin Zhao and Junjie Feng from Shaolin, China. They were the leading performers at the opening ceremony of the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games. Discover traditional Chinese medicine, learn how to cook healthy Chinese cuisine, and receive complimentary admission to the Reid Park Zoo. Co-hosted by the UA Mel and Enid Zuckerman College of Public Health and the Canyon Ranch Center for Prevention & Health Promotion.

Lecture I: Chinese Martial Arts
Sunday, September 23 | 3 p.m. -5 p.m.
Lecture on the history and the development of Chinese Martial Arts by Masters Junmin Zhao, and Junjie Feng, visiting from Shaolin, China, followed by the rare opportunity to view a live demonstration of traditional Chinese weaponry.

Lecture II: Traditional Chinese Music
Tuesday, September 25 | 11a.m. -12 p.m.
Hear a stimulating lecture on Confucius ceremony music and Lu-Nan traditional Chinese instrumental music by guest lecturer Professor Huiqing Cheng, visiting from Shandong University of Arts.

Lecture III: Chinese Cinema & Director Wu Tianming
Wednesday, September 26 | 3:30 p.m. -6:30 p.m.
Learn about Chinese films and Director Wu Tianming with Professor and Scholar Tan Ye from the University of South Carolina. Free screening of Wu’s multi-award winning film”King of Masks”

Chinese Moon Festival Poetry Concert
Thursday, September 27 | 7 p.m. -9 p.m.
Attend a Chinese Moon Festival Poetry Concert, co-hosted by the UA Department of East Asian Studies. This is an event to experience Chinese vocal and instrumental music, along with a lecture on ancient and modern Chinese poems by UA Professors Brigitta Lee and Dian Li.

Lecture IV: ecent Efforts in the Search for Remote Human Ancestors in China?
Friday, September 28 12 p.m. -2 p.m.
Xing Gao, Professor of Archaeology from the Chinese Academy of Sciences in Beijing, will outline recent efforts in the search for ancient human ancestors in China. Co-hosted by the UA School of Anthropology.

Chinese Language Day
Saturday, September 29 | 9 a.m. -2 p.m.
Co-hosted by Tucson Chinese Association
Tucson elementary, middle, high school, and college students test their knowledge of Chinese language. Other activities include making traditional moon cakes, Chinese games, cultural activities and prizes!

Moon Festival Concert
Sunday, September 30 | 7 p.m. -9 p.m.
Attendees can experience Chinese traditional music, folk songs, and choral masterworks at the Moon Festival Concert. Co-hosted by the UA School of Music and the Tucson Sino Choir, this celebration of Chinese composition is an encounter not to be missed.
